Alpha Komunikacijos – a company providing telecommunication services for Lithuanian market. The company successfully works in the biggest Lithuanian cities: Vilnius, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, and is planning to extend its business in Kaunas city. Since the year 2008, company has started providing Digital TV (IPTV) and VoIP services in Vilnius and other biggest cities. The company‘s specialists design, prepare and maintain optical telecommunication network.

Cellular Expert project scope
Alpha Communications made a bid to win a WiMAX license in Lithuania. HNIT-BALTIC specialists were asked to plan a fixed WiMAX network taking into account the following tender’s requirements:
- Network will be built with 100 base stations
- Network will be built with 2/3 base stations of the 1st scenario
- Network will be built with 1/3 base stations of the 1st scenario
According to these three scenarios and project requirements, the following calculations were performed, which were the main criteria to win a project:
- Network coverage prediction
- Network coverage area
- Network coverage statistics
Business value:
With a help of Cellular Expert software, the feasibility study was carried out, which enabled Alpha Communications to prove that they will fulfill the necessary requirements of the tender. Cellular Expert has showed how WiMAX network will be developed within a certain period of time.
